Privacy Policy

This policy explains how PetCare Tracker handles information when you use our offline-first pet care app.

Effective date: 10 October 2026No account requiredLocal-first storage
Before publishing: Replace [your privacy contact email] and [your developer or business name] below. Review this policy against the exact SDKs, permissions, ads and backup behaviour in your released app. Do not publish statements that are not true of your implementation.

1. Overview

PetCare Tracker (“the App”, “we”, “us” or “our”) helps pet owners organise pet profiles, vaccination and deworming dates, feeding records, weight history, veterinary visits, medicines and reminders.

The App is designed to work offline and does not require an account. Pet profile information and records are intended to be stored locally on your device. The App may connect to third-party services for advertising and consent management as described below.

2. Information stored on your device

Depending on the features you use, the App may store the following information in its local database or app storage:

  • Pet details such as name, species, breed, gender, birthday and weight.
  • Vaccination, deworming, medicine, feeding, grooming and reminder records.
  • Veterinary visit details, clinic or vet name, notes and optional costs.
  • Photos you choose for pet profiles and images of prescriptions or reports.
  • App preferences such as language, theme and notification settings.
Local storage: These records are designed to remain on your device and are not sent to a PetCare Tracker account server because the App does not provide an account or app-operated cloud service. This does not cover information handled by third-party advertising services or files you choose to share or back up.

Please avoid entering information you do not want stored on your device. Anyone who can unlock your device or access its app data may be able to view information stored in the App.

3. Advertising, Google AdMob and consent

The App is free and may display advertisements through Google AdMob (Google Mobile Ads SDK). Ad services may process information such as your IP address, advertising or app/device identifiers, ad interactions, diagnostics, and information used for ad delivery, measurement, fraud prevention or frequency capping. The exact information processed can depend on your device settings, consent choices, SDK version and applicable law.

Google and its advertising partners may use information under their own privacy policies. See the Google Privacy Policy and Google AdMob information.

Where required, the App uses Google's consent tools to present privacy choices. Available choices may vary by region and applicable requirements. You can also review advertising and privacy controls in your Android or Google settings where available.

We do not sell your locally stored pet records. The App does not intentionally send pet profiles, veterinary notes or prescription photos to AdMob. Advertising SDK data handling is governed by the relevant third-party services and must be accurately reflected in the App's Google Play Data safety form.

4. Permissions and why they are used

  • Notifications / alarms: to remind you about feeding, vaccines, medicines, vet visits and other tasks. Reminder scheduling is performed on your device.
  • Photos / camera: if you choose to add a pet photo or attach a prescription/report image. Access should be requested only when needed for the feature you select.
  • Files or document access: when you choose to export or import a backup, or save/share a PDF report.
  • Internet access: used by advertising and consent services. Core pet tracking features are designed to work offline.

You can manage permissions in your Android device settings. Denying a permission may prevent the related optional feature or reminder from working as expected.

5. Backup, export and sharing

If you use backup or restore, the App lets you export a file to a location you choose or import a compatible backup. If you save that file to Google Drive or another provider, that provider's terms and privacy policy apply. We do not operate a cloud backup server for the App.

If you create a PDF health report or share photos/files using another app, the information is transferred to the destination or recipient you select. Check the recipient and destination before sharing. Exported files may remain outside the App until you delete them yourself.

6. Data retention and deletion

Locally stored pet records generally remain on your device until you delete them in the App, clear the App's storage, or uninstall the App. Uninstalling or clearing storage may permanently remove records that have not been backed up. We cannot recover local-only records for you.

Backup files, exported PDFs and copies shared to other apps or services are managed by you and the relevant destination service. Advertising or consent providers may retain information according to their own policies and legal obligations.

7. Security

We aim to minimise data collection and keep pet records in app-local storage. Device security features such as a screen lock and keeping Android updated can help protect your information. No method of electronic storage or transmission is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

8. Children's privacy

PetCare Tracker is intended for general pet owners and is not specifically designed to collect personal information from children. The App does not ask users to create accounts. If the App is distributed to children or configured to target children, its advertising SDKs, consent flow, store listing and data practices must be reviewed and configured to comply with applicable child-safety and Google Play Families requirements.

9. Pet health disclaimer

PetCare Tracker is a record-keeping and reminder tool only. It does not provide veterinary diagnosis, treatment or professional medical advice. Any general vaccination schedule shown in the App is informational and may not suit every animal. Always consult a qualified veterinarian for vaccination, medicine, feeding and other health decisions.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy when the App's features, third-party services or legal requirements change. When we make changes, we will update the effective date at the top of this page. Please review this page periodically. Material changes should also be communicated in the App where appropriate.
